Iconic rock band Goo Goo Dolls rose to prominence during the ‘90s. The band, led by frontman John Rzeznik, released their breakthrough single, “Name,” in 1995. The song notably stayed on the Billboard charts for 12 months and topped the Hot 100 Airplay for 18 weeks. The single preceded the band’s fifth studio effort, A Boy Named Goo, which later earned double platinum in the U.S. By 1998, the band was on top of the world with their highly-acclaimed sixth studio album, Dizzy Up the Girl. The quadruple platinum-certified record spawned Goo Goo Doll’s biggest hit, “Iris.” the single topped three Billboard charts and peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. Besides the U.S., “Iris” also entered the charts in 15 other countries, reaching number 1 in Italy, Canada, and Australia. After the highly-successful lead single, the band dropped several more critically-acclaimed hits, including “Black Balloon” and “Broadway.”
In 2002, Goo Goo Dolls dropped their highest-charting effort on the Billboard 200. Gutterflower came four years after the incredible success of Dizzy Up the Girl. The seventh studio album peaked at number 4 on the Billboard 200 and spawned singles “Here is Gone” and “Big Machine.”
On their 2023 run, the band will feature new material from their latest album, Chaos in Bloom. The album was led by its first single, “Yeah, I Like You,” which was met with high praise by fans and critics.
